Put It On The Ballot.Com

Sorry to have been away from commenting on the Cleveland budget and other issues. I have been busy with the effort to collect signatures to put the sales tax increase on the ballot. I am working at a booth at the Cuyahoga County Fair all week to collect signatures.

Our efforts are going well, we have several thousand signatures already in and we're planning on a big presence at the Cleveland Browns exhibition game this weekend and the sold-out Indians game with the Yankees this weekend.

Go to putitontheballot.com for more information.

We need your help to send a message to County Commissioners Tim Hagan and Jimmy Dimora that we want a say in how much tax we pay and for what.

We are not for or against the medical mart and convention center. We are for the right to vote the issue.

Here's how you can help.

--Sign a petition (go to putitontheballot.com to find out where petitions are being circulated).

--Circulate a petition (sign up on the web-site)

-- Volunteer to get signatures at the Browns exhibition tailgate and the Indians games this weekend (sign up on the web-site)

why don't you tell people how you're mobile now with the EV-DO and can work your practice, your blog, and the ballot initiative wherever you are?

why isn't peter lawson jones assisting with the petition drive? is it because he secretly wants the reffort to fail because he actually supports depriving the voters of the right to vote on the issue? a rational person can only believe that his "no" vote was cast, after the fix was in with hagan and dimora, in order to provide jones with political cover next year. after all, he is the only commissioner up for re-election. the game these guys routinely play in order to sucker the voters becomes increasingly transparent with each passing day. hopefully, the voters will get wise to the ruse that is perpetually played upon them and throw the whole bunch of em out of office. i have heard on good authority that after hagan provides chris kennedy with this nearly billion dollar tax payer gift, he will not seek re-election and will take a high paying position as an associate in kennedy's business. stick it to the clevelanders and we're off to the greener pastures of N.Y. Does this old game sound familiar?

Anonymous, I've heard the rumor that Hagan plans to resign and relocate to NYC, but not all the other extrapolations. Should somebody be asking him about his intentions, or should he be more forthcoming? What's ethical? What's moral? What's polite and considerate?

it wouldn't do any good. he would just deny it and label you as a conspiracy theory nut or try to marginalize your credibility in some other way. remember who he is - he is the guy who got clobbered by none other than the least popular governer in the Country, Bob Taft, in his quixotic pursuit of gubernatorial (self-perceived) idolism. Imagine what would have happened had he won! After he lost the governors race, the former Commissioner decided to take out Tim McCormick (the only legitimate watchdog that we had elected at the local level) AFTER McCormick had endorsed and supported Hagan against Taft. Think he won't stick it to the voters after what he did to McCormick his former colleague and democratic friend? The best thing you can do is to get the signatures needed to get it on the ballot. Silently stay focused on the effort, get the job done and when you (we) are successful then the public debate is re-opened and that would be a better time to take him to task insofar as his future intentions are concerned. Maybe McCormick would be a good place to start in terms of looking for a spokesperson and frontman for the grassroots perspective.

see tim? bundy is a "lunatic" now according to hagan's henchmen. i know these folks and how they operate. drive on, get the signatures then take em on directly between october and march. the plain dealer will continue to be biased as they were during the last school levy attempt. the numbers were fudged (everyone but them seemed to know it) and they tried to show 14 yr olds reading on the front page as evidence of progress being made in the schools. they only problem was that the 14yr olds were reading the berenstien bears, which is suitable reading for kindergartners. there is no depth to which they are unwilling to go in order to take your money out of your pocket for themselves and their friends.

oh, i forgot. when the evidence was presented to brent larkin, he refused to print the truth about the condition of the schools and their wasteful (?), or is it purposeful spending. you may remember the hundreds of substitute bus drivers that were playing pool all day while on the payroll (i wonder who they are related to). this will continue until these folks are out of the picture politically. don't try to be nice, polite, respectful etc. this plays right into their hands. they will try to convince you that they're just good ole regular guys and then shiv you in the back in a heartbeat.

you see? the p.d. doesn't want to print the information that was presented to them by an industry expert. check bfd's site and gloria ferris' site if you can upload it. someone is obviously trying to sabotage her website.
